Ocarina of Time Characters

A brief overview of the characters (main, important ones, at least in my eyes) from Ocarina of Time. No spoilers, unless you are completely clueless about the obvious (i.e. Link is the hero, Zelda is the princess of Hyrule). But as I said, those are painfully obvious, so I think even LoZ: OoT novices won't have a problem. Oh, and these are very brief; I was afraid that if these simple bios went into too much detail that it would give away many plot twists and secret information, so do not expect the character's entire life stories to be revealed here. If you want that, I can certainly send you an e-mail containing sites that should "quench your thirst" (so to speak). Anyway, let's get this cake walk on the road ladies and gentlemen! Oh boy, I'm no good at this sort of stuff...

Link (young)Link: The hero and main playable character of our tale! He grew up most of his life among the other children of the forest, the Kokiri, and sadly, for a long time remained fairyless. Until one unseemingly strange morning when at long last a fairy by the name of Navi was assigned to Link as his faithful partner. Together, the two were assigned the task of saving the world and all of Hyrule together through the time magic contained in what look like ordinary ocarinas. By learning new magical songs, Link not only manipulates time but also gives him power over other elements such as sun and rain. He is the sacred choosen one whose shoulders bear the burden of rescuing the entire world from Ganondorf's all too real insidious plot to rule the future world with an iron fist.

Princess Zelda (young)Princess Zelda: The princess and future ruler of all of Hyrule, Princess Zelda has alot on her back that she must prepare for for the future, and has already feared for her land's safety at a young age when Ganondorf rode into town. She believes in Link to save her land, even when she's grown, and entrusts him with the Ocarina of Time, a powerful instrument, moreso than the Fairy Ocarina. She's sweet, courageous, and is keen to a great deal of Ganondorf's evil intentions and the true power of the Triforce. Her fellow Hyrulians have her full support that she will be successful at becoming their queen.

SariaSaria: Link's longtime friend, and love interest to most of the boys in the Kokiri Forest, Saria has always been there for Link and most of the other Kokiri children, espcially when Mido (who probably has the biggest crush on her than the rest) is a bully and bosses the other children around. But when she's not biting Mido's head off for being a jerk she's performing her friendly duties to her fellow Kokiri, gaining a high popularity status among most of them. She's kind and caring and has yet to really admit her obvious strong feelings for Link (yes, that too is painfully obvious).

Ganondorf (Ganon)Ganondorf: An evil man from the desert (Gerudo Valley) with his eyes set on obtaining all the Spiritual Stones in order to claim Hyrule for himself. He does this by sending evil minions and creatures to retrieve the stones for him, but was thrawted by Link time and time again, leaving only a final confrontation between him and the legendary hero Link to decide Hyrule's fate...

Navi the FairyNavi the Fairy: Link's constant companion and confident through his journey to save Hyrule from the clutches of Ganondorf, Navi is full of wisdom, knowledge, and strategy. Think of Navi as Link's Jiminy Cricket, if you will, watching his back and warning him of perils ahead, not to mention keeping a sharp eye in order to inform Link of his surroundings that seem a little off and could help him figure out a dungeon or some other puzzle. Unlike the other children of the Kokiri Forest, it took quite some time before Link was granted a fairy by the Great Deku Tree, and the two have been traveling together ever since.

Malon (young)Malon: Malon is a bright, spirited girl Link meets while attempting to sneak into Hyrule Castle. She and her father run the Lon Lon Ranch, which is accessable on Hyrule field, and is also the place where Link can gain the priveledge of summoning Epona (a mare) whenever he is on the field through Epona's Song. On the Lon Lon Ranch Malon works happily alongside her father Talon and their other farm hand Ingo tending to Cuccos, cows, and horses. Malon can often be found on the main field to the ranch singing Epona's Song, a tune her late mother taught her.

Princess Ruto (older)Princess Ruto: The princess of the Zora people at Zora's Domain, Ruto refuses to be tied down to her responsibilities as princess and is often sneaking off exploring the outside waters (or taking care of Lord Jabu Jabu). Regardless of her rebellious nature, when you get right down to it, Ruto is still a young lady who secretly daydreams of finding love. She inherited the Zora Sapphire from her mother, waiting for the man of her dreams to hand it off to in engagement. And of course she decides to give it to Link after Lord Jabu Jabu's swallowing her. Didn't see that coming. She appears spoiled when you first encounter her, but after getting to know her through the maze of Jabu's stomach, she's really a cool character.

ImpaImpa: Strong, loyal, and one of the few Sheikah remaining in Hyrule, Impa has exercised her extreme loyalty to the Hyrule crown by risking her life more than once in order to protect Zelda, whom she is the main bodyguard/guardian for. With her apparent strong outwardly stature, she's one chick you do not want to tango with, if you know what I mean...

Farore (left), Nayru (center), and Din (right)Nayru, Farore, and Din: The three mystical goddesses who created the world, all its inhabitants, and the most powerful relic in history, the Triforce. Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom, poured her wisdom onto the land and created the law. Farore, the Goddess of Courage, created all the life forms which would uphold the law. And Din, the Goddess of Power, created the earth itself.

NabooruNabooru: A young Gerudo lady and the Gerudo's second in command. Though being a Gerudo native, she is 100% against Ganondorf's evil plans, and assists Link in his quest to defeat the evil desert overlord. Though she's rather feisty, rough, and sarcastic (let's not forget seductive), she is a friend to Link and will put her neck on the line for the fairy boy if it means the fall of Ganon.
